0:00 – Intro
OCBC partnered with WeInvest to provide the roboadvisory service.
1:12 – Features
The roboadviser has a total of 36 portfolios for you to choose from. They have an optional rebalancing feature where you can choose not to rebalance. They will also send monthly emails to you to keep you updated on latest news and latest trends.
2:25 – Portfolios
There are 2 main categories, diversified portfolios and thematic portfolios. For diversified portfolios, there are a total of 6 portfolios, each corresponds to a different risk level.
For thematic portfolios, they have portfolios related to commodities, consumer, financials, healthcare, industrials tech, emerging trends etc.
4:52 – Pricing
There’s a 0.88% flat fee of AUM per year, priced into the returns.
5:10 – When should you choose OCBC RoboInvest?
Some people prefer to use a roboadvisorthat’s managed by the bank because it has higher security. It’s also much more stable financially. You can invest as low as USD100 for some of the portfolios. And it’s much more convenient to invest as you don’t have separately download another app.
With OCBC RoboInvest’s active management, the portfolios have a chance of giving a higher return than the market.
7:17 – Are your funds safe?
The funds are custodized with HSBC and Citi. So if WeInvest closes shop, OCBC will transfer your funds to another provider.
7:41 – What I like
It lets you invest in a lot of different portfolios. It’s a bank roboadvisor, ie financially stable, has bank security and lets you directly access in the OCBC app or website. Their optional rebalancing feature lets you choose if you want to accept the rebalance or not.
8:27 – What I feel OCBC RoboInvest could do better
Their UI is lacking as it doesn’t show much information. Monthly investment is not for all the portfolios.
