The $100 Investing Challenge! (How To Invest For Beginners!)

00:00 Start Here

In today’s video I’m going to be revealing 8 different ways on how to invest your first $100 even if you’re a complete investing beginner! I’ll also be putting my money where my mouth is and investing my own money into each of these asset classes and we’ll check back in a couple of months time to see which of these investments performed best!

01:40 Investment Idea #1

First let’s start off with low risk low reward investments, the first one being a high interest savings account. Savings, in the form of an emergency fund, is something that everybody should have in place prior to making higher risk investments. However there is an opportunity cost to holding too much money in cash, thanks to something called inflation, so because of this we’ll need to make sure we’re investing in assets that outpace the rate of inflation.

03:30 Investment Idea #2

Next up we have investing into precious metals and scarce resources like Gold, Silver and Oil. These commodities can be bought by either investing into the physical bullion or by investing into something called an Exchange Traded Commodity.

05:04 Investment Idea #3

Index funds are a great way for the beginner investor to get started, my personal favourite is the Vanguard S&P500 ETF. Historically it’s provided a very good return on investment of c.9% per year on average over the past 100 years.

07:12 Investment Idea #4

The fourth way of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT’s) which is a great way to make some passive income. It’s a great way to get some exposure to the property market without having to own a physical property portfolio.

08:30 Investment Idea #5

The fifth way is to invest into individual stocks, also known as stock picking. It’s an investment strategy that appeals to lots of investors as it has the potential to make you a lot of money if you can invest in the right stocks.

10:04 Investment Idea #6

The sixth way is to invest in collectibles, an investment opportunity that seems to be becoming more and more popular. Investing into things like classic cars, wine, models and even Pokemon cards are the latest phenomenon for investors and have gone up in value significantly in the past 12 months.

11:52 Investment Idea #7

The seventh idea is where we jump into the higher risk, high reward investments so lets talk about Cryptocurrency! The most popular crypto’s to invest in are BitCoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

13:38 Investment Idea #8

The eighth idea is to invest into NFT’s also known as Non Fungible Tokens which seem to be the new craze of investing into digital into things like Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT’s and CryptoPunks NFT’s.
