I Just Lost Thousands From My Trading212 Stock Portfolio.

Since the beginning of 2022 I have literally lost thousands of pounds from my Trading212 investment portfolio, well… not quite lost, unrealised losses lets say because i’m certainly not going to be selling any of my stocks anytime soon! Regardless, with very unfavourable stock market conditions over recent weeks I thought i’d share with you some very insightful data, along with my own investment portfolio and how i’m currently dealing with some of the losses that i’m seeing.

Whilst historical data doesn’t always inform future performance, we can certainly look for patterns and trends which help us feel a little more informed than we were before about current stock market conditions. In light of this I thought I would share some insightful market data which shares some of the cyclical market conditions and stock market performance over the past 20 years, along with historically which months have performed the best vs the worst!

Worried about the short term performance of the stock market and whether a stock market crash is on the cards, but you’re a long term investor? Well ZOOM OUT your stock charts. Don’t worry about daily or weekly fluctuations, even if we do see a market crash or market correction, instead focus on the 1, 3 & 5 year trend of the market which you’re actively investing in. Focusing on longer term market performance will give you far more confidence and conviction in your own investment portfolio.
05:06 What To Look Out For?
There are some key macroeconomic indicators to take note of over the coming months. First up, we have monetary policy across the US with the Federal Reserve and the UK being lead by the Bank of England. Inflation is high and due to this its likely we’ll see a cycle of interest rate hikes in 2022. The BoE have already instructed the first one, with the Fed likely to follow suit. This will without doubt effect the valuations of the stock market.
